Ask Dr. Orloff
What does it mean when my hands become hot?
Question: I was wondering if there is a reason why my hands are
so hot? I have received craniosacral therapy and I have noticed that
the therapist's hands warm up when she is working on me; I have also
been told that healers have very hot hands. My hands are not constantly
hot, although, they are hot often. So hot that sometimes it is
uncomfortable for me to hold someone's hand because it will make their
hands sweat, or lay my hands on someone because it makes them very
warm. I have been told that I should pursue the healing arts and I have
experienced a level of sensitivity to some things but I am not sure
where to start.
First and foremost, I would be most interested in finding out if my 'hot' hands mean anything.
Answer: Hot hands can mean that your hands are getting
energized. Some people find this uncomfortable, and shake their hands
after healing sessions to dispel the energy. Healing energy can take
the form of coolness too, so don't think that just because your hands
aren't hot that nothing's happening.
All best,
Judith
